5 Africans Selected To Serve On Next Creative Leaders 2021 jury | Hermann Kamte

The One Club for Creativity and The 3% Movement have announced the judges who will serve on the jury for their Next Creative Leaders (NCL) 2021. Five of these judges are from Africa.


NEXT CREATIVE LEADER

Next Creative Leaders is a free portfolio competition that identifies, celebrates and gives a global platform to talented women and non-binary creatives who are making their mark on the world with both their work and a unique point of view. Forbes Africa 30 Under  30 Class Of 2019 | Hermann Kamte

At 26, Hermann Kamte delivered a keynote speech alongside Rwandan President Paul Kagame and Egypt’s President, Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, during the Africa 2018 Forum at Sharm el Sheikh, in Egypt. Cimencam is a subsidiary of the French construction materials group Lafarge. It produces and sells cement, aggregates and ready-mixed concrete in Cameroon. It includes three factories: a grinding station located in Bonabéri on the banks of the Wouri River in Douala, an integrated cement plant in Figuil in the Northern region and a concrete plant located in Olembé in Central Cameroon.

Wooden Skyscraper For Lagos by Identity

Concept plans have been revealed for the first wooden skyscraper in Africa. Cameroon-based Hermann Kamte & Associates has taken the wraps offits design for an 87-metre tower in Lagos which would be constructed on top of an existing concrete structure. These mixed residential spaces will accommodate one-, two-, three- and four-bed apartments that are shaded by a stylised wooden envelope, complete with symbols reflecting Nigerian Yoruba heritage.

Lagos’s Wooden Tower by I-FOCUS I, II (Set) [Concept, Diagram & Facade, Detail]

The project focuses on the open area. This is an experimental tall wooden structure in Lagos. The apartments are designed around a central core. Building is divided in 4 parts. The existing structure and new are separated by sky gardens and amenities. The top roof consists of 360-degree restaurants and lush greenery. Sky gardens also contribute in social gathering between users.

First Wooden Skyscraper Proposed In Africa Wins Inaugural Wafx Prize by Wood In Architecture

Africa's first  proposed  wooden high-rise  is  a  mixed-use condominium consisting  residential  spaces,  sporting facilities, sky gardens and a carpark. Previously Africa’s largest water body in the Sahel region, Lake Chad has lost its glory and is facing extinction since 1963 when its size shrunk from 26,000 square kilometres to 1,350 square kilometres by 2001. It lost about 95% of its size to inefficient damming and irrigation methods thereby affecting the over 30 million people in Chad, Cameroon, Niger, and Nigeria who depend on the water body as their major source of water.

Green-Roofed Wooden Tower In Lagos Maximizes Daylight And Natural Ventilation by Inhabitat

Hermann  KAMTE  est  un  jeune  architecte  camerounais  et  autodidacte passionné de culture générale. Né à Yaoundé en 1992, en 2010 il déménage à Ngaoundéré pour étudier les sciences physiques. En 2011, il commence à Lomé (Togo) des études en architecture.
